When speaking prophetic, like Merrill Lynch, whose ads say “when they speak, people listen”; so too, just speak or teaching anything prophetic and people are attracted. Now they may not agree, but prophetic teachings and events regarding what is coming is hot topics today.  Now I ask you to take our friend Job, who is written about in scripture, as our topic today.

If someone would of come to Job at the time prior to what we read in Job and tell him “Job, I have a prophetic word for you today.” I can see Job looking at him and not thinking anything much about it and would probably agree to hear him out.  Remember this word is a prophetic word that a friend gives to Job in this hypothetical situation. What if, yes, the big if, Job knew about what was coming or was told about it. Then it would not of been a surprise here. But in fact, Job was not told about it. It hit him out of the blue, or should I say ‘cloudy’ sky of turmoil.

However, Job was well to do, blessed by G-d, believed in him and strove to make sure his household and family were in line with the G-d whom he served. In his prosperity and blessing would Job believe his friend? Of course, this is hard to tell! No doubt here I believe Job would immediately go to his G-d to find out more.

You and I know the story of Job very well. In fact I know many who love that story and many apply it to Christians today to define the truth they teach that “Bad things happen to Good people.” Job did in fact reach a day when all literal hell, excuse the expression, let me say Sheol broke out. It was so horrendous that everything he had was gone, including his own health. He did not die though. This would be as if the Devil and hell visited you or took you to their abode in the place of sulfur and flames. The licking of the fire and the heat, the burning stench of sulphur in your nose. The blur of vision from the smoke, the strain of the mind to comprehend it all.  Here is a small portion of Job’s words concerning what had happened to him!

Job 3:2  And Job spake, and said,
3  Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
4  Let that day be darkness; let not G-d regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
5  Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
6  As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months

Yes, my friends for Job, one day it was a clear blue sunny day with chance of blessings abundant. The next day came the cloudy turmoil that hit him and his family.  Just think, one day, 24 hours, 1440 minutes, or 86,400 seconds. A grain of sand in the hour glass falls for each second, until the grain runs out. Then you look up and behold a cloud. It rises, turns dark and moves to your position. Little do you know that at the moment your thinking a little shower, a small rain. But then it opens up. In this midst of the storm another person  rises up and suddenly you are struck with his message, it is “cloudy with a chance of peace.” For there amidst the storm is one who has come on the scene claiming to bring peace.  But you, even in your trouble know that this one brings delusion and deception. With these two twins come death.

Job 3:23  Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom G-d hath hedged in?
24  For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
25  For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
26  I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

In the next section we find Job asking pertinent questions. The first is obvious, “why is light given to a man, whose way is hid, and whom G-d hath hedged in?” Here Job is speaking of himself. G-d had indeed blessed Job and hedged him in. Scripture does say that the “L-rd will give his angels charge over us to keep us in all his ways!” Yet, Job is asking “why am I given light to walk in and I thus follow that light only to find turmoil?” The result is that in following the light of G-d, keeping his ways, the L-rd protected him, a.k.a.  hedged him in from all harm.  Yet in the midst of all this, Job found trouble. In this mans life and family he had sought the G-d of eternity and kept his ways. He wanted his family blessed and kept by G-d. Yet in all this, he finds something he had feared is come upon him and his family. He now is not in safety, nor has rest. He has found trouble in all its fury. In this section Job may have ‘cursed the day he was born’, but he never cursed G-d.  This is what Satan had wanted him to do.  Instead, when all this hit Job and his family, he did not charge G-d foolishly, he sinned not.

He recognized the need to be humble before his G-d and to seek him. Thus he rent his mantle, shaved his head, and fell to the ground, and worshipped G-d!
He then recognized that all he had, the L-rd had given him.
He recognized the L-rd took it away and had right to do so.
He then blessed the name of the L-rd in this situation!

Job 1:20  ¶Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
21  And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the L-RD gave, and the L-RD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the L-RD.
22  In all this Job sinned not, nor charged G-d foolishly.

Today as we scroll the minutes, hours, decades, and millennium ahead we find America. With her are friends the U.K., Canada, Australia, and others. But especially in America we have been a group of well fed calves on the hills of plenty. G-d our L-rd is responsible for giving the nations blessings and provision in spite of their rebellions. Out of his mercy and providence, this G-d of ours supplies the world and all that is in it. Well, my friends, the watch has stopped. It is midnight, the cloud on the horizon grows dark and coming towards us. For many in America, the thing that is treasured most is plenty. We have always, it seems, except for a few times in our history, had plenty. From the virgin forests, lands, prairies, and lakes we have to the four corners of the nation which is rimmed by water we have had plenty. So much so people have many treasures, abundant wealth, homes, cars, food, and much more. Our lifestyle has been the envy of many who would like one tenth of the provision we have had. For many Christians as well the blessings have been abundant.

In the midst of this storm all nations will be caught up in it. Yet it will become fact, not fiction. It is not misplaced theology that Christianity today will face what Job faced, and worse. G-d has blessed this nation and used it for his purpose, no doubt. He has spread the gospel through this nation.  America joined other nations to defeat the tyrant Hitler and the rogue nations that joined him. All these enemies were defeated. We rebuilt Europe and Japan. Not everything this nation did was good or right, but in the end, this nation has had more of everything than any other nation on earth. The time is here and will continue for this nation. But one day, as with Job, a short span of 24 hours will see the situation so change that many will be in an era they would not of believed had it been told them. But my friends, America and the church has already been told. Many do not believe it. They live as if the day of clouds and of  Jobs dilemma will never come. But this is no longer Jobs dilemma, it is the time of the end. A snare upon all nations, Jacobs trouble, and the Great tribulation. It is not just the beginning of sorrows, but sorrow itself will be upon all mankind. The time of G-d hedging in Christians is over. The time is here, Satan will come in his biggest deception yet. In the day of clouds and turmoil there will also be a ‘chance of peace and delusion’. The world will see it that way when the dark one steps up to the throne of godhood. The world will want peace and a god who will let them do what they want. This god will. He will bring all nations, religions, and ways under his banner and mark.

Job had comforters, people who knew G-d, or so they thought. In the end, the L-rd would not accept them unless and until Job prayed for them. Then they were accepted before G-d. The wisdom of their understanding of G-d was wrong. Job came out vindicated, but he did go through it. Even his wife urged him to curse G-d and die. Job did not do that. He may not have understood it all, but he went through it. He did so with heartache, troubles, hurts, misgivings, and many questions. But he went through it also looking to his G-d to bring him answers.

In the midst of all his sufferings, Job made, I believe, one of the greatest statements of faith ever.
He speaks to the situation with faith saying “Oh that my words were now written, or printed in a book.” He wanted people to read, hear, and understand his words he was going to speak. To put down in pen and ink for all to read and witness. Which they are, for we read it today. But it was written down on the pages of eternity as well. It is a truth all our words we speak will be held to our account in eternity. Job says ” I know my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see G-d: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reigns be consumed within me.”  He was literally speaking of a time yet come! Indeed our redeemer lives and comes. Job says that even though his body and all he has is consumed, yet this G-d whom he knows is his redeemer. Further Job believes and states that he will be raised up to behold this G-d! Now this is faith in the midst of crisis. Such faith, all end time Christians need. Could we say this or will we say this when the troubles comes of which we warn and exhort people to be prepared for?

Job 19:23  ¶Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24  That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25  For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
26  And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see G-d:
27  Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

So too, Christians will have to come to grip with their theology, teachings, and churches. For many churches have not prepared them for what comes. I know as do you that there are those who even now prepare. Some even are prepared to fight and win America back. But this is useless. There is no going back. Some believe it will always be America and be blessed. This is not to be. Sadly, the nation America and other nations will fall under extreme judgment. Those in these nations will face that judgment too. It will fall on the righteous and the wicked. As with Job they will be affected. They will wonder and may be tempted to curse G-d and die. This is not a time they were expecting nor taught to weather. They will be as Job, sitting upon the ash heaps of their ways in the world and scraping the wounds. As they do this, the tempter will come as the god of this world to bring a little peace and delusion to their lives.

But my friends, this is not the end of the story. It is “almost the end”. For you must understand as this next scripture points out. We know the reason of all this. It is not because G-d is a bad force, evil force, or just wants to destroy things. Out of his mercy and love he is waking up those who say they love him. He is chastising, and bringing through the fire, the believers, those who are his. He is preparing them for the harvest to come. At the same time he is bringing low the slanderers and sectarians to the point they will repent. Many will not, but there will be a harvest of these as well. A harvest of the sour grapes, and of the sweet grapes. A harvest of wicked and of the righteous. This is the time, of which, is a prophetic note. It will be done. But until that time, it will be as if the whole world was turned upside down in a moment. You and I are seeing the increasing troubles worldwide. But my friends, in a short time, when you are not expecting it, just as Job, it will come upon all. But especially upon the Christians, it comes, and with Job the question is “will you curse G-d and die?” Or will you “bless the L-rd and seek him in all this, living by faith and obedience to his will?”

Revelation 14:14  And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
Revelation 14:15  And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
Revelation 14:16  And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

In this cloudy end time storm of which is very prophetic. It is a time the prophets wrote about and many today are following. Those who know it comes are preparing. They know, though, with all the man made preparations, it still won’t be enough. In the end, the arm of the L-rd will have to reach down and help those who are his. The world in the cloudy event that will shake the planet has another dilemma. For them, the cloudy end time storm will bring with it a ‘chance of peace and delusion.’ Now I say a chance because even in the delusion mentioned here, which comes out of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 and follows the beast and the marking of all peoples and tribes mentioned in Revelation, there is a place for repentance and salvation of the soul.  The peace here is temporary as the dragon brings into the fullness of his dark deception the false peace mentioned in Daniel 9:27.  Many will fall for it at this time and for the dragons master deceiver god that will stand tall in the temple of G-d, declaring he is G-d. Make no mistake here it will force upon every Christian, every secular, every slanderer, and the wicked of every kind a point in time to say yes or no to the delusion which comes. The hand of the L-rd is upon all nations and peoples. It is no accident that in this era of which we live it will be “cloudy with a chance of peace and delusion.”

The certainty of what is coming and what to do!

1. Take Heed-take this warning seriously, then prepare spiritually and physically for this.

2. Watch- take note of the times, events, and understand the signs of the end

3. Pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things and to stand before the Son of man! This do, take this as a promise and a command to be able to escape!

4. Believe that this will come “As a Snare upon all them that dwell on the earth”, it shall come!

Luke 21:34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Remember, it is your faith that you have which gives you victory!

1. This faith is not in man or nations
2. This faith is not in family or friends
3. This faith is not in mans ways or knowledge
4. This faith is not in any other god, religion, or savior
4. This faith is unique and says of you that you “believe that Jesus is the Son of G-d!”

1 John 5:4  For whatsoever is born of G-d overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5  Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of G-d?

Finally you can overcome. In fact it says of those who ‘overcame’ at this time, as described in Revelation:

1.They overcame [no if’s, and’s, or but’s about it], they overcame!
2. They overcame by the blood of the Lamb, they are saved by the Passover Lamb, have received him according to John 1, repented of their sins, and follow him.
3. They overcame by the word of their testimony [Jesus said if you testify of him before men he will testify of you before G-d and the angels, if you deny him, he will deny you]
4. They overcame because they “loved not their lives unto the death”
5. At this time, those who kill with the sword will be killed by the sword
6. At this time, you are to have patience
7. At this time you are to have the faith of Jesus
8. At this time you are of those who keep the commandments of G-d.

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 13:10  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Revelation 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of G-d, and the faith of Jesus.

The Epitaph of Job and the Remnant Believer:

Thus the epitaph of Job is that the L-RD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. So too, what comes for the remnant believer is far more, much more blessed than that which we have seen or thought of as blessing. In short, you ain’t seen anything yet! The best is yet to come, that is our Redeemer and all he has prepared for those who love him, kept his commandments, walking in his ways, and being faithful to the end.

Job 42:12  So the L-RD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
13  He had also seven sons and three daughters.
14  And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
15  And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
16  After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.
17  So Job died, being old and full of days.
